1.0 Learner entitlement

All learners are entitled to work experience that takes place in a safe and healthy environment where due consideration is given to all aspects of their welfare.

2.0 Responsibility

The employer is responsible for risk assessments in the work place. The school/college/employer are responsible for ensuring that parents/carers and learners are aware of all risk assessments related to the work experience.

3.0 Delivery and support

The school / college may use a Work Experience Organiser (WEO) or sub-contractor to provide competent assessments of the work place /employer in order to meet both the legal requirements and LSC’s contractual conditions.

4.0 Content

  • A list of key legislation and guidance.
  • A sample work experience placement assessment form.
  • An Aide Memoir for Work Experience Assessors.
